Part of the Inside and the Outside

The Apartment is a region. Coraline's Room, the Hallway, Parents' Room, the Kitchen, the Drawing Room, the Little Bathroom is in the Apartment.

The House is a region. The Basement, the Attic, the Empty Flat, the Empty Basement is in the House. The Apartment is in the House.

The Outdoors is a region. The Garden, the Overgrown Meadow, the Old Tennis Court, Outside the House, North of the House, Opposite the Flat are in the Outdoors.

Liminal Space is a region. The Mist, the Dark Corridor, the Very Dark Corridor, In-the-Mirror are in Liminal Space.

Instead of dropping something when the player is in Liminal Space:

say "You don't want to lose anything here."

Instead of throwing something at when the player is in Liminal Space:

say "You don't want to lose anything here."

Instead of going to a room that is in the Outdoors:

if the player is wearing the boots, continue the action;

otherwise say "You're not going out in weather like that, Coraline Jones, without your boots on!"

Instead of taking off the boots when the player is [in the Outdoors] not in the house:

if the player is in the Outdoors:

say "You're not going out in weather like that, Coraline Jones, without your boots on!";

otherwise:

say "You are on an adventure, so keep boots on!"
