Section of the wardrobe

The wardrobe is a fixed in place, enterable, openable, closed container in Coraline's room. [It is not scenery.]

The description of the wardrobe is "The wood is of quite a dark brown colour. You like it."

Understand "closet" as the wardrobe.

Instead of looking under the real wardrobe, say "Nothing. You like it neat and tidy."

The other description of the wardrobe is "[if closed]The wood is of quite a dark brown colour. You like it[otherwise]There is a raggedy witch costume, a patched scarecrow costume, a future-warrior costume with little digital lights, a slinky evening dress all covered in feathers and mirrors[end if]."

The costumes are an otherworld item. They are scenery. They are in the wardrobe. Understand "raggedy", "witch", "costume", "patched", "scarecrow", "future-warrior", "uniform", "slinky", "evening", "dress" as the costumes.

The description is "You don't like any of these clothes and wouldn't dream of wearing any of them."

Some yellow wellington boots are shoes in the wardrobe. Understand "wellies" as the boots.

The description is "Classic wellies. Eminently suitable for walking around outside." The other description is "The yellow has a more greenish tint than you remember. Still, they are quite suitable for walking around outside."

A blue dressing-gown is a wearable thing in the wardrobe.

The description is "Your old dressing-gown, blue, and very comfortable."

Understand "gown" and "dressing gown" as the dressing-gown.

Instead of examining the wellington boots:

if the boots are real:

display Figure of the boots;

otherwise:

display Figure of the other boots;

continue the action.

[Instead of wearing the wellington boots for the first time:

if the boots are real:

display Figure of the boots;

otherwise:

display Figure of the other boots;

continue the action.

]

Instead of opening the wardrobe for the first time:

let x be list of not scenery things in the wardrobe;

say "Oh-oh! Somebody seems to have left a mess and hasn't tidied up properly.[line break]When you open the wardrobe, everything just falls out with a loud crash and lands on the floor: [x with indefinite articles].[line break](You are unhurt, though.)[paragraph break]";

repeat with item running through x:

now the item is in the location of the wardrobe;

now the wardrobe is open.
