Chapter of the Empty Flat

The Empty Flat is a room. It is west of the door to the empty flat.

The other printed name is "The Other Empty Flat".

The description is "When this place was just one house, you were able to go here through the wooden door in the drawing room. When they turned the house into flats, they simply bricked up the way through the door. Now this flat is still for sale."

The other description is "The flat has walls the color of old milk. The wooden boards of the floor are uncarpeted and dusty with the marks and patterns of old carpets and rugs on them.[line break]There is no furniture in there, only places where furniture has once been. Nothing decorates the walls; there are discolored rectangles on the walls to show where paintings or photographs have once hung. It is so silent that you imagine that you can hear the motes of dust drifting through the air. In a corner, there is a dead spider the size of a small cat."

The dead spider is an otherworld item in the Empty Flat. It is scenery.

The other description is "Yes, this is a spider. And yes, it is the size of a small cat. You shudder."

Instead of doing anything other than examining with the dead spider:

say "Ugh. I'd rather not."

The wooden floorboards are scenery in the Empty Flat. Understand "boards" as the floorboards. Understand "floor" as the floorboards.

[not otherwold item?]

The other description is "Among the marks and patterns, you can make out a trapdoor."

Does the player mean examining the floorboards: it is very likely.
