The basement door is a door. It is down from Outside the House.

The indefinite article of the basement door is "the".

The other printed name is "other basement door".

The description is "The door to the basement."

The Basement is a room. It is east of the basement door.

The other printed name is "The Other Basement".

Instead of going up when the player is in the Basement:

try going west.

The description is "The flat smells of furniture polish and dogs. There is only this dusty little room: the parlor. On the walls are lots of black-and-white photographs of pretty women and theater programs in frames."

The other description is "There are blue and red lightbulbs around their door, which flash on and off spelling out words. The lights are chasing each other around the door. It smells dusty in here. The flat has turned into a theatre. It is a huge room now with a high wooden stage and many rows of seats within."

The black-and-white photographs are scenery in the Basement.

Understand "black-and-white" and "black" and "white" and "photos" and "theater programs" and "programs" and "frames" as the photographs.

The seats are otherworld items in the Basement. The seats are scenery. Understand "rows" and "rows of seats" as the seats.

The stage is an otherworld item in the basement. It is scenery. Understand "wooden" and "wooden stage" as the stage.

The dogs are animals in the Basement. Understand "terriers" and "Highland terriers" as the dogs.

Instead of examining the other basement door when the player is in the Basement:

say "The blue and red lightbulbs flash on and off, spelling out [one of ]'Miss Spink'[or]'Miss Forcible'[or]'Live on stage'[or]'Standing room only'[or]'One night only'[or]'Famous stars'[then at random]."
