Section of the Mirror (object)
The mirror is a fixed in place thing. It is in the Hallway.
The description is "At the end of the corridor hangs a full-length mirror. It was, a long time before, the inside of a wardrobe door. The mirror shows the corridor behind you."

try taking inventory.
Instead of examining the mirror during Home Alone:
say "The mirror shows the corridor behind you; that is only to be expected. But reflected in the mirror are your parents. They stand awkwardly in the reflection of the hall. They seem sad and alone. As you watch, they wave to you, slowly, with limp hands. Your father has his arm around your mother. Your father opens his mouth and says something, but you can hear nothing at all.
